Withdrawal of the 20,000 Hungarian Forints note
In a previous post we gave you information about the Hungarian Forint notes, their history and denominations.
And today we inform you that since December 31, 2017 one of the banknotes of the old series of Forints is no longer in circulation: the 20,000 Forints note.

So we remind you that currently there are two series of Hungarian Forint notes:
- The old series: only the notes of 500, 1,000 and 10,000 Forints are legal tender
- The new series: whose denominations are 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 Forints
If you have a note of the old series that is no longer in circulation, the only way to change it is at the National Bank of Hungary, where they exchange them for the new equivalent legal tender note at no cost.
If the ones you have are valid, you can change them to Euros in any of the Eurochange exchange offices.
And if what you need is to exchange your Euros to Hungarian Forints to travel to Hungary, you can make your change at any of our offices with currency selling service or you can directly buy Forints right now on our website: BUY NOW!
