Benidorm Fiestas are almost here!

As every year the second weekend in November will start the Fiestas of Benidorm. From 11 to 16 November you can enjoy plenty of events for everyone.

What are the most significant activities?

If you are staying in Benidorm during the holidays we recommend you to participate in all acts you can, as this really live the celebrations of the city.

However, if you want a little guide to not miss the best, here it is:

Peñas parade

On Friday at 22:00 takes place this event: the Peñas of Benidorm parade which is the beginning of the celebrations.

Offering flowers

In this procession Peñas and other festive entities carry flowers as an offering to the patron saint, the Virgin of Suffrage. It takes place on Saturday at 18:30.

Processions

The Fiestas of Benidorm is in honor of patterns: the Virgin of Suffrage and Saint James. Therefore two processions are held, one in each honors on Sunday at 19:00 and Monday  19:00 respectively.

Mascletàs

If you like gunpowder and firecrackers, with mascletàs you will enjoy sure. You can see them on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 14:00 and on Tuesday at 23:00 there is a special nocturnal one.

Float parade

In this parade the Peñas and various festive entities wear their best costumes to fill with colour and candy the streets of Benidorm. The parade starts at 17:30 on Wednesday. And at the end of it starts the fireworks display that ends five days of festivities.

A very special Peña

Since 1998 there is a very special Peña in Benidorm: La Penya Inglesa (the english Peña). It’s members travel every year from the UK to join and enjoy the Fiestas. It is a very good example that in Benidorm everyone is welcome. We hope to see them again in a few days!

Out calendar

For those who still have the desire to continue celebrating on Thursday is celebrated in the English area the “Fancy Dress Party“. This festival takes place every year after finishing the Fiestas. The streets of the area are closed to traffic, bars draw their bars on the street and music and costumes invade everything. A perfect way to end the holidays and start preparing the following year.
