The currency of Azerbaijan, represented by the ISO code "AZN" (Azerbaijani Manat), is the official monetary unit of the country. The Azerbaijani Manat has undergone significant changes throughout its history, including a currency reconversion in 2006 to stabilize the economy.

New Manat (since 2006): The New Manat (AZN) was introduced on January 1, 2006, at a fixed exchange rate with respect to the old Manat. This new currency was backed by the reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and was designed to be more stable and reliable.

The Azerbaijani Manat is divided into 100 subunits called "qapik." The denominations of banknotes and coins vary, ranging from small qapik coins to higher-value banknotes. Banknotes and coins often feature historical figures, landscapes, and cultural elements of Azerbaijan.
