The currency of Ukraine, known as the hryvnia (Гривня in Ukrainian), is the official currency of the country and plays a fundamental role in the Ukrainian economy. This currency has undergone an intriguing evolution throughout its history, from its creation in the 1990s to its stabilization and consolidation as a symbol of national identity and Ukraine's sovereignty.
The design of the hryvnia incorporates cultural elements and representative symbols of the Ukrainian nation.
